Adopt A Mile
MIC is a proud supporter of the Cobb County Adopt-A-Mile program and has adopted Floyd Road between the Post Office and Hicks Road to maintain throughout the year.
Clean-ups are held every quarter, usually at 8:30 am on Saturday mornings in February, May, August and November. Watch the newsletter and this website for announcements of the specific date.
NEXT CLEAN-UP: Saturday August 7th, 8:30am
Meet at the Westside Bank parking lot - corner of the Publix shopping center at Nickajack and Floyd Roads
Usually it takes less than an hour for volunteers to pick up the trash that has accumulated and collect the orange bags in a central location for the county to pick up. Bags and safety vests are provided. Wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring gloves. It's not glamorous work, but it's great to see our neighborhood clean and neat. And, each time we clean up our mile, there seems to be less trash to collect, so we are confident that we are making a difference.
MIC also encourages neighborhood groups and other community organizations to adopt a mile of their own. If all the miles in Mableton were cleaned up regularly, just imagine how much better our town would look!
