MIC Committees carry out the vital work of the organization and provide an opportunity for MIC members to get involved. This is the current list of standing committees and the chair of each one. The committees change as MIC’s priorities change.
Development – Ray Thomas
Responsible for organizational growth through sponsorships, donations, grants and the HOA Network
Economic Development – Twila Hawthorne
Supports new and existing businesses, educates decision makers about Mableton, advocates for Mableton, collaborates on beautification projects and supports workforce development efforts.
Education – Open
Works to support Mableton’s students and schools by identifying collaborative projects and reporting success stories.
Marketing – Quasar Alexander
Promotes MIC to the community through our website, newsletter, social media and events.
Membership – Steve Jungk
Manages MIC’s membership database and promotes MIC membership to the community.
Parks – Julie Carrick
Works with public and private organizations to improve Mableton parks, manages the Mableton Farmers Market and the Historic Mableton Community Garden.
Public Safety – Joel Cope
Serves as MIC’s contact for Cobb’s public safety officials and helps organize neighborhood watch programs.
Volunteer Engagement – Joyce Miller and Jeff Padgett
Organizes and engages the volunteer spirit in Mableton for projects such as Adopt A Mile, Adopt A Stream, Secret Santa, and Mable’s Tea Room.
Zoning – Robin Meyer
Analyzes and recommends MIC’s position on zoning cases in Mableton and serves as MIC’s contact for Cobb County’s code enforcement staff.
