Smyrna Releases Annexation Study of Mableton Area

Apr 20, 2020 | City of Mableton

The City of Smyrna has released a “Fiscal Impact Study of Proposed Smyrna Annexations” that looks at the feasibility of annexing 3,000 acres and almost 10,000 people who currently reside in the Mableton area of unincorporated Cobb County, along with 113 businesses. The study was prepared by Georgia State University. Click here to read the study.

The most common method of annexation is a vote of the property owners in the area proposed to be annexed. For details about annexation in Georgia, click here. Below is the map of the areas included in the study. The Mableton area is called “South Annex” and is located at the bottom of the map. The lower edge of the map is Veterans Memorial Highway; the tip on the left is the intersection of Mableton Parkway/Veterans Memorial/Floyd Road.
