Economic Development
The Economic Development committee’s goal is to support the growth of Mableton’s economic base. Our committee is focused on creating synergies with agencies that support our effort and on seizing organic opportunities that will help us do the following:
- Attract new businesses
- Support existing business
- Strengthen our workforce (workforce development)
- Distinguish our community
- Advocate for Mableton to potential businesses owners
The Economic Development Committee is responsible for the highly successful, Taste of Mableton, which takes place annually at the Mable House Complex. Food vendors, entertainment, and a kick-off parade made the day a great family event. This event runs on volunteers! Check our Volunteer Page to see how you can be a part of the fun!
The Economic Development Summit is another successful project of this Committee. This day-long conference, held at the Riverside EpiCenter, is focused on entrepreneurs, new businesses and small businesses by engaging with governmental and private sector resources. The result of the Summit is an action plan that will guide the Committee’s work going forward. More details on the next summit may be viewed here.
