Commissioner Lisa Cupid and Planning Commissioner Galt Porter will hold their monthly community Zoning Meeting in Mableton on Wednesday, June 26 at 6pm at the South Cobb Community Center, 620 Lions Club Drive. Two applications for townhome developments have drawn a lot of public attention. Z-43 is a proposal by Embry Development for townhouses on Cooper Lake Road. Z-44 is an application by Kerley Family Homes for townhouses behind the Kroger on Nickajack and Floyd Roads.
Several weeks ago, over 50 people attended a meeting held at The Retreat at Old Vinings Lake to discuss Z-43, Embry Development. The applicant’s attorney presented information, answered questions and listened to the opinions of those in attendance. A new plan is expected, but has not been provided. If you are interested in this application, please plan to attend this important meeting with Commissioner Cupid on June 26.
The following week another community meeting was held by the same attorney about Z-44, Kerley Family Homes. Over 50 people attended this meeting too, most from neighborhoods along Nickajack Road. As with Z-43, a new plan was promised but has not yet been provided.
